Anti-Hazing at Pitt

Hazing at the University of Pittsburgh is prohibited. Any person who engages in conduct that constitutes hazing may be subject to sanction under applicable University policy. Hazing may also constitute a criminal offense pursuant to Pennsylvania's Anti-Hazing Law. Additionally, the University of Pittsburgh complies with the provisions of the Federal Stop Campus Hazing Act and Pennsylvania's Anti-Hazing Law.

The definition of Hazing and how Students and Student Groups alleged of Hazing will be investigated can be found within the provisions of the Student Code of Conduct. This statement currently serves as the University's statement of policy regarding hazing, in compliance with applicable law. The University regularly reviews its policies and practices in this area, and particularly in light of recent changes to federal law, the University is currently considering a more streamlined Hazing Policy that will centralize guidance related to various aspects of Hazing and prevention.
